Car Haul Direct Inc. (“Car Haul Direct,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a licensed auto transport broker registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (USDOT #4321158, MC #1685969). Our office is at 9420 Towne Square Ave Ste 8, Blue Ash, OH 45242. This policy explains what personal information we collect through carhauldirect.com and our related tools (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: directly from you, automatically when you use the Site, and from our shipment tracking systems.

Information you provide to us:

  • Quote request forms: your name, phone number, email address, pickup and delivery locations, and vehicle details such as year, make, model, and whether the vehicle runs.
  • Pricing calculator: our instant pricing calculator (served from widget.calc.carhauldirect.com) collects the same route, vehicle, and contact details you enter to generate an estimate.
  • Newsletter signup: your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Booking and payment: billing details needed to process payment for a booked shipment. Payments are handled by our payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
  • Communications: the content of emails, calls, text messages, and other messages you exchange with our team. Calls may be recorded for quality and training, with notice.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring page, and time of visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies. We use Google Analytics for this and, with your consent, the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel to measure the performance of our advertising. Shipment tracking information:

  • GPS tracking: when your vehicle is in transit, we receive location updates for the shipment so we can monitor progress and share tracking status with you. This tracks the transport, not your personal device.

How We Use Your Information

  • To prepare and send the quotes you request, including estimates from the pricing calculator.
  • To arrange your shipment: assigning a vetted motor carrier, scheduling pickup and delivery, and dispatching the order.
  • To send service updates about your shipment, such as carrier assignment, pickup confirmation, tracking status, and delivery confirmation.
  • To process payments and issue receipts.
  • To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
  • To send marketing emails, such as our newsletter and promotions, only with your consent. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it, using analytics data.
  • To meet our legal obligations as a licensed broker, including FMCSA recordkeeping requirements, and to prevent fraud and enforce our terms.

How We Share Information

We share personal information only as needed to provide our services and run our business:

  • Motor carriers: to perform your transport, we share your name, contact details, pickup and delivery addresses, and vehicle details with the motor carrier assigned to your shipment. We work only with carriers we have vetted for active FMCSA operating authority and valid insurance.
  • Payment processors: to process your payment for a booking.
  • Service providers: companies that host the Site, run the pricing calculator, provide analytics (Google Analytics), measure our advertising (Meta, through our advertising pixel, only with your consent), send our emails, and display customer reviews. Google reviews shown on the Site are rendered through Trustindex, which loads content from Google.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, subpoena, or a government or FMCSA inquiry, or to protect our rights, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide services and meet legal requirements. Brokerage transaction records are kept for at least three years, as FMCSA rules require. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Quote records that do not become bookings are kept for a limited period so we can honor the quote and follow up, then deleted or anonymized.

Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, including encrypted connections to the Site and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as Ohio law and other applicable laws require.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: you can ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: you can ask us to fix inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Marketing opt-out: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email, or by contacting us.

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, the right to request deletion, the right to request correction, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. Some analytics activity may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out through the cookie consent banner by declining analytics cookies. Visitors from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

Car Haul Direct operates in the United States and serves US shipments. If you visit the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your information will be processed in the United States. Where GDPR or similar law applies, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local supervisory authority. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information we have already collected, we will give notice on the Site or by email before the change takes effect.
